Early detection of gynecologic cancers.

Frequently asked questions

Early detection of breast, uterine (endometrial), or ovarian cancer can save lives. Most cancers show no symptoms in early stages, so regular screening helps detect changes before they become serious.

  • Breast Cancer: From age 40, annually or as advised

  • Uterine Cancer: Pap smear from age 21, and HPV testing after age 30

  • Ovarian Cancer: Not routine for all; done if family history or symptoms exist

  • Breast: Mammogram, breast ultrasound, clinical exam

  • Uterus: Pap smear, HPV DNA test, transvaginal ultrasound

  • Ovaries: Pelvic ultrasound, CA-125 blood test
